I respectfully disagree. While having good glove and using proper mechanics reduce the likelihood of injury that does not prevent them from happening all together. My son is catching young men that are throwing >80 mph and I have already seen two catchers in our area go down with broken thumbs. If there is a product out there that can add additional protection without hindering on the field performance… I think its worth considering.

haven't had experience with the evoshield thumb guard but my son has used other evoshield products. First class stuff.

Catch with a 14" softball first base glove. They aint timing your gun down to second. for dads that is.

YES! A thousand times YES. I bought one because I warm up our pitchers, and every catcher on our team either uses mine or has gone out and bought one. It saves my thumb several times every practice.

I don't know, but I know 2 pitcher dads that, last year, broke their thumbs trying to catch for their HS sons. Not me, I'm terrified. So, there is a need for something like it.

Has anyone ever bought or used the Catcher’s Thumb or the EvoShield Thumb Guard?
If so… what were your impressions of it? Would you buy it again? Was it worth it or just another gimmick that will not get used and probably lost?
