  • New Team Uniforms - ?

My team is in dire need of new/matching uniforms. I'd like to design the jersey myself and I see that there are a lot of different "Uniform Builder" sites out there. I was just wondering if anyone had experience with the different brands, or had a favorite or industry standard type site they would recommend.

    Thanks!

Good luck, truthfully not sarcastically. We're going through a uniform change/design right now also and having trouble coming to an agreement between the coaches, actually just one of the coach's wives...who also happens to be "sponsoring" the team.

Can't recommend a good site because we're lucky enough to have multiple places locally (San Diego).

Thanks SOCOM - I'll have to check around my area. I know of at least one local store that does MLB team uniforms for local rec leagues, I'll have to see if they do custom jobs.

I did have a lot of fun playing around with different hat combos/designs here though:

We're the GreenSox so I was able to use the White Sox, White Sox Cooperstown, and the Red Sox. I also used the blank hats to photoshop different logos onto.

My players loved taking the field in tee shirts and kicking tail on the teams that showed up with beautiful uniforms along with matching cleats, jackets and bat bags. Even when we bought nice uniforms they preferred the tees unless it was cold. Since the team name started with W we used the Nationals hats.

I figure that since we're not an "elite" team in SoCal, we can at least look good.

Thats funny my team is the "Black Sox", haha. I might have to steal your template and mess with the colors >.<

tg643 - I've enjoyed your posts here on BFF for the past couple years as I've been lurking. You have a lot of knowledge and seem to be one of the guys here who "get it". Not sure what that comment was aimed at though.

If it's children - get something standard... We designed our last set of uniforms for our Legion team and it just cost us $250 for four replacement jerseys..

The young players won't care what they look like as long as they look the same.

The message is simple. Expensive, hot looking uniforms don't make a team better. Our kids liked humbling teams that thought it did. Besides, the kids outgrow them every year. Maybe some teams need glitzy uniforms to attract players. We attracted players with quality instruction and winning. Save the hot uniforms for high school, showcase and college ball.

We were able to outfit our travel ball team for about ~$140 per kid (paid for it by getting 16, $100 sponsors ... 11 players). Put the sponsors logo on our banner ($125 total for the banner, my photoshop skills came in really handy saving money on this one). Stylish hat with 3D logo. 2 jerseys, 2 pants, helmet with mask, bag. Our navy jersey was just a dri-fit t-shirt with white trim down the sides. The red jersey was a bit thicker and more expensive, with the same white trim down the sides.

If I had to do it over again, I'd just get both jerseys as the dri-fit shirts. I believe they were $7 + logo printing + numbers/names. The red jersey was about $15 each (not including printing and name/number). Hats were ~$18, Bags were ~$30, helmets were $23. IMO, we looked as good as any other team, and I don;t really see the point of the $50 pants with all sorts of tribal striping on them.

If you only play DH and weekday games, one jersey might suffice. With weekend tourneys and the unis needing to be hung dry, having two of them was kind of a necessity.

We played tournaments. The team had a uniform top and two sets of tees. The uniform top was only worn in cold weather. We had a black uniform top with red trim, a black tee and a red tee. The kids got their own plain white pants so they could be replaced at any sporting good store. We wore the red Nationals hat. It was all very inexpensive.

Go to www.boombah.com and get what you want. It is all quality stuff. If you want to buy just one set of stuff or multiple things it is all right there. Best idea for teams on a budget is to buy a set and then the parents can purchase anything else that they want at their expense. Every color combination that you could want. Good luck!
