Pitching Analysis - College Player

Kenny ... It looks like you're not getting over the top of your stride. The stride is creating resistance to your follow through. It appears there may not be consistancy in your stride. You look off balance in different forms each pitch. (If I found the right website) It may be why you walked 8 in 10 innings. Did you get on a good collegiate summer ball team? Do they have a decent pitching coach? 6-3, 190 is good size for a pitcher. Where are you headed next year?

Kenny... The fact that you're a college pitcher and want to move up, post your video on here, and pitch into a net says a lot. I was a college pitching coach once and sometimes its our jobs to look for whats wrong. I've seen guys with subpar stuff or horrible mechanics get guys out. Here's what I noticed from the video: you don't have a strong/firm glove side and you dropped your arm on your slider. You've "got more gas in the tank" meaning you can throw harder. Point your glove at your target and have an intent to throw hard or "blow the mitt up". Work on staying on top of your slider. If you can fix those things, IMO you could be a reliever/closer at high college level with a possibility to play ball after that. Google the internet for help. There are so many great websites and instructors just as there are snake oil salesman. Driveline is a great website along with topvelocity that come to mind. I hope this helps. Good luck, you have the potential!

But things to work on:
Glove side
Getting over my front foot.
It's funny you mention TopVelocity. I submitted my video analysis here:
What I got from it was work on the back side drive to make a more explosive movement and hip/shoulder separation.
Thanks for your comments. Any more?Last edited by Chieftain20; 07-01-2012, 11:56 PM.

Chief,
Have you ever asked about your load? Why the yellow lines versus the red at the peak of your load.

Some might say you are landing on your heel in the first video. Think about landing on your foot all at once or on the ball of your foot.
For the front arm you might think about getting your chest to go to your glove rather than letting it fly like it does now.
Not sure these will necessarily help but it's common advice.Major Figure/Internet Influencer
