Any insights into a comfortable elbow guard for a 5' 125 lb kid? He's taken a few too many off the elbow(some from me I'll admit) and could use some padding. Alot of wild pitches thrown this year and headed into fall season where pitching isn't any better.

I had not thought of that... something new to worry about :stupidme:
I did have a kid break his finger at growth plates playing around with his brother at home, they ended up setting it 3 times over couple week period as it was pointing thataway...

Want your opinion on http://www.mizunousa.com/baseball/pr...9s-elbow-guard
Maybe somebody used it? Can't choose between Mizuno and EvoShield.

Evoshield. Son has used an elbow guard since he was 10. He had been hit many times when he was 9. We used a Franklin for a few years, even tried Shock Dr. He was hit a few times on the Franklin and it didn't protect as well as we'd hoped (swelling, bruising) but it was still better than having nothing at all. In the fall last year we tried the Evoshield. He got hit once with I'd say 65 MPH on it and he said he felt nothing at all. There was a loud crack but he walked away unharmed. I'm sold on it and so is he.Baseball was, is and always will be to me the best game in the world.

Rather than starting a new thread, I thought I'd ask a related question here:
For the EvoShield wrist guards, how are they meant to be worn? With the protective pad on the inside or outside of the wrist, or are they meant to be flipped around (i.e. outside when hitting, inside when fielding)?

Both my kids are righties. They wear them on the inside of their left wrist when fielding and turn them over when hitting.
I don't have the elbow guards, fortunately haven't had an incident yet. I have suggested them to players who bat opposite of their dominant hand (throw righty but bat lefty).Last edited by AdamInNY; 03-13-2014, 08:13 AM.
