Need a lot more information before making a judgment on that one. They could both be insane.

To Jason, I am a parent of an 11 year old oxford baseball player who witnessed this outrageous behavior. The video clip does not show the beginning of the argument when both Wilton coaches were in the umps face ... Nose to nose... It also doesn't show the other Wilton coach franticly running through the field, jumping over two fences to get to the parking lot to get to the umpire. On top of that, the coach in the video leaves the argument with the umpire only to bring his anger into the dugout and onto the Wilton players. One shout out of his mouth was "there's nothing funny going on here, you guys got your [email protected]@' kicked" ... This behavior was way out of line - insane - and not appropriate in front of 11 year olds. My son came out of the dugout, walked over to be shaking. He looked up at me and said "mom, I was so scared in the dugout, look at my hands, they are shaking." There's no argument here. This situation should have never happened!

Sure... possibly, but not for an 11u league ball game...

Some background info that was not caught on video. Ump made a call that the 3rd base coach did not agree with, he yells "This is ********" and continues to argue.. The ump give him a warning and states one more word and your out.. Kid at bat strikes out, kids come off field, the ump starts to walk over to talk to the 3rd base coach and he may or may not have said anything (my viewpoint I could not hear since kids were now in the dugout) and he raises his hand. The ump then throws him out.

I saw a coach from the San Fernando Valley pull a similar stunt and after getting the game called because of his behavior, he took his anger out on one player of his team. The parents of this team were just as bad. The kid was kicked off the team. Sad very, sad.

That guy reminds me so much of a coach from our Little League. I hope the guy never coaches again. Unfortunately, the guy from our league continues to coach.

Regardless of what occurred and who is right or wrong, as an adult you don't act that way on the field in front of kids and their parents. As a LL coach I had a couple of moments where I could have acted that way. I stood in the dugout, arms folded, staring, grinding my teeth and shaking my head.

The one time I did get kicked out of a LL game I walked up to the home plate umpire and calmly, in a voice only he could hear I said, "You really stink. What's worse is you're so arrogant you think you're good." He ended up looking bad because I was recognized as a good coach, everyone felt the same as I about the umpire, I was calm and no one heard what I said.

Thanks. That explains enough. This one is on the coaching staff.

No you don't. The coach was inappropriate... Whether the umpire was or was not is a seperate matter.
                    He should not be coaching.

The OP wasn't discussing "inappropriate." The OP was discussing "insane."

I understand.... but whether or not he has emotional or psychological problems is a seperate matter also. What matters from a baseball standpoint, especially a youth ball standpoint, is he was very inappropriate and should be disciplined. My opinion is that people like this should not be coaching youth ball.

If you have an 11 year old shaking because he's afraid of his coach, there is something VERY wrong!

That's fantastic. That information wasn't available in the OP which is why I asked for more details.

The OP (me) was just quoting the ranting of the screaming coach... He was asking the Ump, "Are YOU INSANE!?!"

I was basing question on the coach's idiotic diatribe...

I know. I saw the video in the OP. As another poster in the thread suggests "Beware of little Youtube snippets."
