  • Software for Video Viewing

I'm curious as to what kind of Software some of the hitting instructors are using to compare videos? I've seen side by side comparision between two different types of swings as well as being able to draw on the videos to show swing paths...ect.

Does anyone have an idea of what a good program is or a cheap alternative?

Click here....it's free, and for the price you can't beat it.

In the past I've used "Sports Motion" and "Motion Pro", but have found that over the years (and when I switched to a Mac), that it was just quicker, easier, and cheaper to use Quicktime Pro. I don't find myself (or my hitters) needing all of the frame-for-frame, line drawing, arrow pointing, and whatever else all of the other programs offer.

I guess I'm saying that what I thought I needed when I first started, I really don't need now. Try the free Kinovea, it's pretty close to what the other more expensive ones offer.....

Go to MotionSportsLab.com : Free web-based Swing Analysis.

No cd's or downloads needed. Also has an informative blog with tutorials on swing analysis and mechanics, etc. Great site!

I got the software from Epsteins site (I think) it was like $100. It's pretty easy to use. I like it. I don't know how to work all the bells and whistles but all I really wanted was something I could sync up side by side and finding it on that website made it an easy purchase to get up and running quickly

Just downloaded this software. It's great, really able to slow things down for review. Can't wait to look at some pitching videos I have of my son.
