  • Proper fundamentals when covering a base for a tag play?

I was wondering if there were any videos showing proper hands and feet when receiving the ball at 2nd and 3rd for a tag play?

    Thanks

Thanks. Now that thread is talking about covering for a steal. What about throws from the outfield?

Third baseman straddles. SS straddles on throws from right and right center. 2bman on throws from left stands on rf side of bag with toes pointing to 3rd or if the throw takes him to 3b side he can attempt to straddle as he catches the ball.

The reality is that the throw often forces the receiver to improvise. Very underrated play. Takes practice. Mental effort to squeeze the ball (catch the ball) as the tendency is to just slap the glove down.
