I just purchased the Vinci BRV1957 for my 6 year old as a replacement to his Kelley youth glove. I love the glove but have a concern. The pinkie/ring finger side of the glove at the top is very weak and does not hold its form very well. So, when he tries to catch a ball and it hits the top of the glove (not just at the tip) it bends the fingers back and the ball just keeps going because it is not rigid enough.
I understand the back of the glove on the youth glove is not the leather like on the front so that it helps with weight, break in, etc. but I am concerned that it does not offer the same support as a full leather glove.
I used the conditioner only on the palm and barely broke it in by playing catch and bending the hinges, etc. He has used it in 2 practices and 3 rounds of catch.
Has anyone else had the same issues with this glove? If so, did you discuss with Vinci? Could I have broke it in too much???
Thanks!
