Has anyone seen any information about the 2008 Neft Cohen? I've contacted Barnes and Noble and Borders and they have no info about a release date.

Could this be going the way of the not existent 2008 Street & Smiths?

It's A Shame If It's All Over For Neft-Cohen Encyclopedia

If the Neft-Cohen Encyclopedia has gone out of business that totally sucks. The year-by-year makeup of teams is one feature that no other guide offers. There are internet sites that offer similar information, but it's always nice to have that data in book form, all under one cover and portable.
It's indispensible if you are a baseball card collector who collects cards and photos of your favorite team. You can build your collection around the way the players are listed in the year-by-year format used in the Neft-Cohen Encyclopedia.
I can only hope that that this is a temporary interruption in the Neft-Cohen book's publishing history. I hope that fans and collectors will contact the publisher and register complaints about the book's absence, and when the publishers see that there is a demand for this book, that it will be revived in future years.

I have no inside information, but I'm guessing it will come out every few years like it used to back in the 1970s & 1980s.

It is a valuable resource for fans and researchers. By omitting the seasons from 1871 to 1900, however, it lends credence to the view that ML baseball didn't truly begin until 1901. With all the new stats available for those early years I don't see why they aren't included unless it makes the book too thick.
