Hi all, I just finished reading "Deadball stars of the American league", what a fascinating look into the history of the game. Anyway, on the front cover is a picture of game two of the 1907 world series between Detroit and the Cubs at Chicago's west side grounds. In the crowd, nearly half of the fans are wearing some strange white "hat". Does anybody know what these are or why the fans would be wearing them. Thanks for any insight and Happy Holidays.
