  • Life and Times of Hank Greenberg

I just watched the 1998 documentary The Life And Times of Hank Greenberg. What a wonderful documentary with lots and lots of old baseball footage. I didn't know that one of Greenberg's nicknames was "Hankus Pankus" and that Greenberg's altering of his baseball glove led to the development of the modern first baseman's glove.

Strikeouts are boring! Besides that, they're fascist. Throw some ground balls - it's more democratic.-Crash Davis

What was really neat was the substantial amount of interview footage of Greenberg himself. He gave quite a bit of insight of the events of his baseball career.
