  • R. A. Dickey Books

Became aware of Dickey this year when he pitched against the Mariners in August. Was rooting around youtube when stumbling on the E60 segment done on him:

Has anyone read either or both of his books as thinking of buying them: Throwing Strikes & Wherever I Wind Up. A true human interest story of struggle it seems. Any info appreciated.

I bought "Wherever I Wind Up" on a bargain table and it was well worth reading. Not extremely well written, but RA really lays it out there and is very open about the abuse he suffered.
If you're looking for a really great baseball autobiography, I recommend "A False Spring" by Pat Jordan...you'd think a book about a pitcher who flamed out very quickly after entering pro baseball might not be very interesting, but I thought it was really fantastic all around.
