  • Ball from Australia, 1942

I own this baseball from a game played in Melbourne, Australia on July 4, 1942. I've researched the names on the ball, Bob Adkins is former Green Bay Packers player who was drafted for WWII, CA Wiilloughby eventually became the head of intelligence for General MacArthur, and Wally Locklier was a well-known "baseballer" who lived in Victoria. My guess is that is ball is the ball used for the ceremonial first pitch. I've got newspaper clippings of the game, the lineup for the U.S. team, draft cards for some of the members of the team but I can't find a picture of it or either team. Any help would be greatly appreciated. 241427105_1448732042194129_369460025954341319_n.jpeg
