Yup - good deal for the Ripken rookies alone. What brands are you talking about? Topps? Fleer? Especially on the Mattingly rookie? Donruss?

      How many cards in total?
I think $60 is a decent deal. But cash? No thanks. Check, money order or paypal.

Which Ripken, Mattingly, Gwynn rookies are they? If any of the cards is an '84 Donruss Mattingly, that's still quite collectible. A bunch of early 80s cards for $60 isn't too bad especially since you got some key rookies of the time. Once I paid a friend $20 for a giant box of cards and 2 albums. I didn't even look through them, but he didn't want them and I took them off his hands. They ended up being mostly late 80s, early 90s, you know the usual. I either pulled 7 or 8 '90 Sammy Sosa RCs of various brands. This was back when his rookies generally booked for $8. I ended up selling 5 of them to a dealer for $3/each.

If your wife works with the guy, then by all means the deal sounds even better!

Thanks yea i kinda felt sorry for him cuz he knows nothing bout these players so i said $80 which even that sounds like a great deal espeically being the rookies. There not hundreds now but someday like 20 years they will be. But yea $60 is great i m planning on getting them graded which hopefully will bring the value up nicely

Don't count your chickens before the eggs hatch. I thought the same thing, that getting cards graded would improve the values. Unless they come back as BGS 9 or 9.5, you've just wasted your money with Beckett. Make double sure the cards are gradeable before you buy them.
