  • cards you should have bought in 2002

I saw this and think it's pretty funny. It's from 2002, and is titled "Check out which baseball cards you should buy now."

    Some pretty bad choices.

No real "good" choices in there.

I thought the Chipper Jones RC wasn't half bad (and not coincidentally was the only one I went out of my way to buy during that era...I picked up a Pudge RC two years ago for fifty cents). But the others? Ugh...

They were on the right track...7 of the 10 cards listed are RC's of probable future Hall of Famers....and others had a shot back in 2002...but the problem is that the cards of that era (late 80s - early 90s) were so overproduced that even the rookie cards of great players just don't have much value.

I've been trying to get Tiffany RC's of a few of those guys, but they're tough to find.

It seems like whoever compiled that list didn't understand the market at all. It would've made more sense if those were cards you should buy in 1994 or something. And what's with this about Chipper Jones. "A switch-hitter with the caliber of Mickey Mantle and Eddie Murray"

Well which is it? Murray or Mantle because there's quite a gap between the two.
