  • 1983 Blue Jays autographed baseball

In 1983, my grandma had the honor of throwing the first pitch at the Blue Jays vs. (???) game. Unfortunately, the game was rained out, but she DID get a baseball autographed by almost the entire team.

Here are the names I can make out:
    Jim Acker
    Jim Clancy
    Dave Geisel
    Jim Gott
    Luis Leal
    Randy Moffitt
    Mike Morgan
    Dave Stieb
    Matt Williams
    Buck Martinez
    Ernie Whitt
    Damaso Garcia
    Alfredo Griffin
    Mickey Klutts
    Rance Mulliniks
    Jesse Barfield
    Lloyd Moseby
    Jorge Orta

The ball's sitting on my shelf in a little plastic case. I've never taken it out! How much would it be worth these days (not that I'm trying to sell)? How would I get more information about the game that was supposed to have played (at least the team they were going to play)? Are there rain-out stats?

    Thanks!

My best estimate on the ball would be maybe $100-$200 or so, assuming the signatures & ball are in good shape. Not sure where you can find stats on games that were never completed (or played?) but someone here might.
    WAR? Prove it!

      Bryan,
I have never seen "rain out" games on a schedule before. Here's the closest that I could find: http://www.baseball-almanac.com/team...p?y=1983&t=TOR

Of course there is that 98% chance that the link above is going to be zero help anyways.

Thanks for the link- I figured someone here would know. :cap:

It looks like Matt Williams was only on the team in August so it's probably around there. I'll see if I can dig up a 1983 Blue Jays schedule and compare it to the game logs on Retrosheet.org.
