  • Remember That 2008 Topps "Kazuo Uzuki" Card...

...advertising the website MyTradingCards.com? Well, that site is owned by Topps, and basically they print anything you send them that's either not obscene or violates MLB copyright problems (don't stick a city and a team name together) on a template. I had to try it once, so I ordered sixteen cards (eight was the minimum)...of my man, Steve Dalkowski. Here's two card designs of a REAL flamethrower who really likely did hit triple digits with every single fastball. I used two templates, a 2008 Topps template and a 1959 Topps template....

When I see Steve later this year, I plan on giving him one of each design and having him sign one of each design for me. I also plan on keeping one of each design blank. That gives me five of each design to give away. I'll be holding various baseball card trivia contests with cards as the prize. I also plan on using these as trade fodder.

That's awesome. I would love to trade for an auto Dalkowski card if you can get one.

I like this idea a lot.

I'll be sure and get an extra signature for ya. I know you like the 1959 Topps design, so is that the template you want?

Heh, I just noticed a mistake. And it's my fault, not Topps. In the last sentence of the 2008 Topps card design, it should read "among the wildest" not "the among the wildest". Whoops!!!
