I always love the Heritage cards, but I have to say that I'm a little disappointed with this year's crop. I think Topps got a little too clever for their own good. They tried to give the cards a faded look like the photography on the '57 set, but it wound up looking like all the cards were just left out in the sun for a long time. I was wondering what others' impressions were of these cards?

I'm not sure if your refering to Bowman or topps heritage, but i think you're talking about 2005 bowman heritage, which are very blury, which is a minus. They also don't have stats on em, which i don't like. But these are my favorite cards to get autographed. But i really really like the 2006 topps heritage. They're great for autographs, and there's lotsa great rookies in em, and the look looks really great. But I wish they could have some action shots. And they have bubblegum. Wouldn't it be funny if they put Barry Bond's paula abdul impression on a baseball card?

Nope, I'm referring to the brand new 2006 Topps Heritage. I love the look of the '57 cards, but they seem to have given a lot of the photos a fake faded look. They would have been nicer with just clear crisp photos.

The Topps Heritage cards are the only baseball cards I buy anymore. The 1957 look is fine with me. I was also into collecting the Fleer Tradition cards a few years ago. The glossy Topps cards just don't do it for me. I was able to pick up a few packs of Heritage down in Virginia recently. I was surprised that they were still around.
