An average R327 Ott will sell in the $50-$150 range.

No need to get graded if you can provide clear scans of the front and back.

Sell it on eBay in the "1930's Singles" category, with clear scans of the front and back, no need for a reserve, it will sell for what its worth.

"$300 for a BB card from 1935? seems like it would be worth more."

Likely would be a little more if graded, but here's the thing...if your card grades an SGC (that'd be the best grading service to use) 1 or lower for some fault such as a tear on the back or a tape stain but is otherwise in terrific shape, that actually takes value OFF. For a good idea of how the cards sell, find several you think are in comparable condition on eBay and track them. This should give you an idea of the value. The best search term to enter would be "Mel Ott Diamond Stars" with search title and description checked. Also search "Mel Ott National Chicle" (the company that produced Diamond Stars), against with "search title and description" checked.

Thank you for your help. No, it's an original, my grandfather gave it to me from a long time ago. Is it worth getting graded? $300 for a BB card from 1935? seems like it would be worth more. I do thank you for looking it up, though.it's in really good condition.

Before we go any further...it doesn't say "reprint" on the front or back of the card, does it?

I just looked at Beckett online, does the card have a picture of him without a hat on? If so, Its listed as a 1934-36 Diamond Stars No. 50, the book is listed that the high is $300 and the low $175

    Mel Ott baseball card

Hello. I need some advice. I know nothing about baseball cards and have a Diamond Stars, No 50 Mell Ott baseball card from copyright 1935 that appears to be in excellent condition. I have no idea what it may be worth, or how to sell it. I've heard about grading services and being able to sell cards for more money that way.Hate to butt into the field and just be a money monger but the card has no real significance to me.Any and all advice would be apprecited.Thank you.
