  • What's the worth of my autograph

Hey I got a ball autographed by ARod tuesday at the Rays game. Just curious the worth of it being in sharpie and on a panel.

trust me i know it was luck.. it was right when they opened the gates.. i ran down to the field was chillin for about 10mins..then Arod walks towards the 3rd baseline after he gets done working out...then he looks over at us and he throws his glove down....he came like 5 feet from me i was like right by the bullpen or whatever you call what the trop has of a bullpen. but he was to my right closer to the dugout and he started going down the line and I knew he wasn't going to come back my way. So i jumped over two rows of chairs then ran and pushed a few ppl out of the way to get over to the dugout..and just reached over this kid i feel kinda bad but i've been an Arod fan since he first started as a Mariner...and just shoved my ball into his face but he had his own sharpie i was trying to get him to grab my pen but he didnt...but I'm still happy with my success. But it also sucks cause my collection is all on the sweet spot and in blue ball point ink... I actually just started collecting as well So if you have any tips please let me know.

Ps He signed about 20 balls and like 2 jerseys

I'm sorry, but that's just wrong. People that do stuff like what you did is the reason players don't sign more for fans at games. Being a fan of Arod's is no excuse to push people and especially kids. It's stuff like that that gives collectors a bad name. Very poor form.

I'm gonna second Scott here. Don't do that, no matter who it is. And you wonder why some people dislike autograph collectors...and NEVER, EVER reach over a kid. I had someone do that with me in 1996 with Jason Isringhausen. Izzy signed my baseball after the game (Pete Harnisch's brother got us tickets, so...), but God, was that rude.

You are kidding right? That story has to be the most... I don't even know what the words are that I want to use. That's just terrible that 1.) You would push people out of the way, 2.) thinking of yourself before a child, 3.) shoving your pen in A-Rod's face, 4.) complaining about him using his own pen. Hell, be lucky that he even signed for you at all. I know that I wouldn't have.

And to answer your question: I have zero idea what it's worth.

I can't speak for everyone here, but I WOULD NOT do any of that stuff that you did. What you did gives us serious collectors a real bad name with the players.

hahaha thats a deal lol...NOT funny though... I can't believe I got his autograph . It hasn't left my side when I'm at home. Still wish it wasn't in sharpie though I've been told sharpie's fade after a few years on baseballs.

oh Gawd are you serious everybody was doing it. I got pushed out of the way right after I got my autograph. lol I lost my scandal and had to wait for him to go into the dugout to get it back. Yal are taking what I said out of context. Everybody was running over there. I wasn't the only one. Have you ever been to the Trop when the Yanks and Redsox are there? It's a mad house.

Yes, I am serious. We don't know what the other people did as you didn't say. Regardless, leaping over seats, shoving, it's all a joke when I see people do it.

I wouldn't. I'm not "acting." And the statement about "everybody was doing it" to somehow excuse what you did is older than dirt and not valid.

                              Oh?

Hey, all you should have said was that you went to the game, and got the ball signed. Not go into a big story session. With all of your added info, it just got everyone here ticked off.
And I foresee that the longer this stays open the more out of control it's going to get.

                              Closing.
