  • At what point do you stop Sending out...

Do you guys get to a point and think, I'm waiting on 50 ttm's. I'll stop until half of them come in? I've been at this since January. I've been doing very well. At least I think I am. Currently, I'm waiting on 65 ttm's and I've slowed down considerably. I'm starting to be more picky on who send out to. When I first started I would just send out cards to whom ever I saw a success for.
Does your mailing slow down when the summer comes?
Any input would be great. Thanks

I mentioned in another thread that this has been a slow month for me....I've had only 3 successes and 3 failures this month. I've sent out about 180 requests so far this year.

When things get slow, I find it's best not to slow down on sending things out...that turns a small slump into a big one. I might get a bit more picky about who I send to (and try to get info on who signs, like with the "Does he sign" thread), but I try not to send out any less.

It's also tough to know what a "good" return rate is, as it varies so much from collector to collector, depending a lot on who you sent to.

Right now, I have sent out 180 requests for 2008, and had 47 successes and 5 failures. That's only a 26% success rate, which seems rather bad. I hope that I get a bunch of those returns back, though, and the rate goes up substantially.

BTW, I'm 26/84 so far on requests sent to ST this year. That's almost 31% success rate. Again, not sure if that's good or not, but that's where I stand.

    Hope this helped!

Right now I'm 69/185, so that's about 37%. Last year, my overall success rate was 72%, so things are going to have to pick up considerably for me to get even close to that. There are a bunch or requests I've sent out that I've seen multiple successes from that I haven't gotten back yet. I have slowed down a bit in what I have sent out since I have finals coming up, but I plan to pick it up a little bit during the summer.

        Thanks for the input Guys.
The way you guys explain it, I'm doing very well. I'm 155/230 w 6 Failures.
Which works out to be 67% Success rate.
Ok, I won't stop. I just got finished with 8 more that will go out in the morning.

I don't stop. I keep sending, and sending , and sending out requests. If I don't write at the minimum of a dozen requests over the weekend, I feel like a failure. Sad? Yes. But true. h
