Anybody know of somewhere to buy packs of Heritage cards at a good price. I'm looking to buy a good number of packs. Maybe 25-50 packs. I've seen a few things on ebay but was wondering if there is anywhere else. Ebay averages about 3 dollars or more a pack. I'm starting to collect this set and was hoping to buy lots of packs to get some more of the harder to find cards.

I'm still going to have trouble getting that Smoltz card though. Unless someone knows where I can get one of those without spending an arm and a leg.
I collect any and all Braves cards and memorabilia. I also collect baseballs and Pre-1060's Topps cards.

I bought a box (24 packs) on eBay a couple months ago for about $2.50 a pack. Keep an eye out, especially for stuff with "buy it now" or in eBay stores...that's where I had the best luck.

Once you start building the set, be sure to post what cards you need in the trade section....there are a few people on the site that are building the set, and I have 100 or so commons I'm more than willing to trade.

    Good Luck!

Two things to think about while building the 2008 Heritage set, btw:

      - Some of the cards are short printed in the set, so they'll be harder to pull from packs.

      - There are "black back" versions of some of the other cards...they're not short-prints per say, but you might want to decide whether you care if the cards you have are all one version or the other or not.

Thanks for the tips. This is the first set I'm going to try to build. Once I get a good set going I'll be sure to contact you for some trades.

I just bought 24 packs from ebay for about 2 dollars a pack. Hopefully I will get those soon and start building a set. If anyone knows of other places to buy for a good price I am still open for advice. Thanks.

Walmart sells them for $2.49 down here a pack. The one card I traded you came from that pack.

I too am building this set. Your best bet is to buy a hobby box, or two, from the MLB online shop. If you're planning on building the set pack by pack it'll be more difficult. Once you get the majority of the set built, take all the duplicates and trade them for the ones you need. If you just can't get the cards you need, then I would consider buying them on ebay. Mike D is right, short prints are harder to come by.

Also, once you get your set built as much as you can, send me a PM. I might have some cards you need, and you might have some duplicates that I need. Good luck and happy collecting.

I'm a set builder myself. I'm starting the 2006 Allen and Ginter set. One way I've found to get a great chunk of the set is to buy "lots" on ebay. Packs and boxes are way too expensive for me. The A&G lot I got had 276 out of 350 cards with 13 short prints for $18 shipping included. That's a lot cheaper than packs. I'll get one more nice lot and then get the remaining cards from sportlots.com. Here's a link with a hat tip to Madhatter from these boards.

I live in San Diego and the cheapest I've found Heritage packs for are $3.50. The shop I frequent sells them for $4. If you're trying to put together a set, let me know. I have tons of cards from this set and would love to help you out.
