anyone who buys puckett items right now is a bit foolish, IMO. it's true that puckett auto'd items will probably only go down a little in a year or so, but i think the card values will eventually drop down to the levels they were a week ago.

Man, that was a fun set to build.
I agree. It's still one of my all time favs. I am always looking on EBAY for rack packs, etc. I wouldn't recommend chewing the gum, however.

I have three of Puckett's Topps RC, one each of Donruss and Fleer.

I pretty much keep my cards, although I should have been smarter about selling high....I bought two 1985 Topps set before the 1998 season for $35 each, and the McGwires were booking for like $250 at times that summer....probably should have sold, but hey, I got 'em cheap and they're cool cards.

I'd say I have at least a dozen of his Topps rookie cards. For some reason that was an easy card to get that year. I have two Donruss and one Fleer.

I wish I had the 1984 Fleer update, but I never acquired that set.

It'll be interesting to see how his death affects the supply and demand...
There seemed to be a huge amount of Puckett stuff on eBay yesterday. It seemed every autograph item was getting a lot of interest/bidding.
I have a couple of the 1985 cards, although I haven't been able to wrangle the 1984 Fleer Update.
I am a collector. I get cards because I want them for my collection. I do not get them with an eye towards profit, although I most certainly begrudge non-dealers who do. The cards are staying right where they are.
