That's the best idea, though I doubt they would want 80-86 because just about nobdoy they've heard of would bei n there but the others would incldue players they whave heard of. My firend did that with his when he moved and they loved it. I'd suggest makign sure none of those 85-80 book for anything above a few bucks (like Ripken stuff if you haven't seperated it out). and take those out and then donate them and maek kids eyes light up with joy.

I live in Kettering, but work at what's essentially the Centerville-Miamisburg border. The guy had a store at State Rte. 48/Main St./Dayton-Lebanon Pike just south of 725/Franklin. It's been gone a good 7,8 years. Lots of great memorbilia.

I know of a certain local sports memorbilia auction that used to be around the Dayton, Ohio area where whatever wasn't sold was donated to a couple local schools. I can't remember, but I think the auctioneer/owner of the memorbilia in the auction said the cards would be distributed to students as some sort of incentive.
Are the commons sorted at all?

If children's hospitals could actually use my older cards, that's probably the way to go. Let me poke around locally and see if I can find someone who wants them...if not, I'd love to get the info of the doctors you know.

    Thanks!

    Great Idea.

    I was kidding.

I don't even want to think about what it would cost to ship them here.

started a topic What do you do with "commons"?

What do you do with "commons"?

Was wondering what you guys do with commons.

I have been collecting for close to 20 years, and even though I don't buy much newer stuff, I seem to always accumulate a large quantity of commons.

Probably 10 years ago, I sold many thousand commonds (probaby 30,000 total cards) on eBay, but the shipping costs associated with shipping the cards meant I got barely enough for the cards to make hauling them to the post office worth it.

I've thought of donating them, but not sure anyone would want them...they're mostly 1980s-1995 or so, not NEW enough to have much interest for most folks. They're also getting a bit old for a lot of TTM stuff.

I have probably 5,000-10,000 commons right now I'd love to get rid of...any thoughts? I thought about throwing an ad up on craigslist and seeing if anyone would give me $10-20 for them local, so I wouldn't have to ship them.

    Suggestions appreciated!
