I recently came back from the Phillies S.T. in clearwater FL. and receved the flowing singatures...

    Aaron Rowand (2)
    Mike Schmit
    Pat Burrel
    Eude Brito
    Alex S. Gonzalez
    Shane Victorino
    Ryan Madson
    Geoff Geary

and about 10 other prospects whos name i coulnt catch

    Luke Scott (Astros)

I was able to get autographs about 15 minuts befor the game betwen 3rd base and Left field, (have a sheet with names for Prospects so you can yell out names) and you can try signing inbetween innings along the side of the field when the players leave the stadium. Also at the end of the game they aslo sign at the same place at the begining of the game. somethimes a few players will do batting practice afterwards and they might sign then too.

I get my sigs at public appearances

I have autographed balls of 5 Nationals players that I got in person at appearances in the area away from the park. Brad Wilkerson signed a ball for me at a store appearance, and a February Nationals fanfest at a sports bar resulted in getting signed balls from Ryan Zimmerman, Jose Guillen, Brian Schneider, and Brandon Watson. I prefer public appearances to the stadium. At the stadium there are too many people who are competing with you for a guy's autograph, and if there is someone who tries to give a player multiple items to sign, or if a scuffle breaks out in a group, the player will stop signing, and you are out of luck.

The Wilkerson appearance was advertised on sports talk radio here in Washington and the fanfest appearance was advertised through the Nationals website. But, this website might be of interest:

Here you can get info on all autograph signings.

Great site. I don't know if they currently do it, but when I joined a little over a year ago, (there is a fee for the deluxe site) I was able to receive a free autograph 8X10 of my choosing. I picked Monte Irvin.

                  Spring training!

Well, I'm leaving for tucson tommorow, and I'm hoping to post a bunch of autographs here, and also come home and find a bunch of ttm successes waiting in my mailbox. It's gonna be pretty sweet.

                    Spring training

I just got back from Tucson last night, and I saw three white sox spring training games while I was down there. I got 35 different autographs too. Mostly all of them I recieved by the parking lots as they exited. But one of the coolest things was that Scott Podsednik was actually on my plane back to Chicago! I talked to him briefly, and had him sign a ball. He was staying in Tucson a little longer, so he could get some extra work in. Anyways, heres a list of all the autographs I got at st. Ask me if you'd like to see pictures of anything.

Ozzie Guillen: 2005 ws card, 2005 coaches 8x10, both in blk. sharpie.
A.J. Pierzynski: 8x10 of him and jenks, scan is below, blk. sharpie
Jermaine Dye: 2005 official ws ball blk sharpie, 2005 ws card blk sharpie
Chris Widger: 05 ws card, pocket schedule, both blk sharpie
Ross Gload: 05 ws card blk sharpie
Jim Thome: omlb (blue ballpoint) omlb (black sharpie) 00 topps card (blk shrp)
                    Tadahito Iguchi: 8x10 blck sharpie
Pablo Ozuna: 05 ws card blk sharpie
Juan Uribe: baseball, 05 topps, blk
                    Alex Cintron: baseball card
Scott Podsednik: (on the plane) official ws ball(blue bp) 8x10 black sharp
                    Rob Mackowiak: baseball card
Brian Anderson: 8x10 blk sharpie, baseball (blue bp)
                    Matt Thornton: baseball card
Freddy Garcia: 05 ws card, baseball blck sharpie
Brandon McCarthy: 8x10 (blck shrp) ball (blue bp) card (blue shrp)
                    Bobby Jenks: 8x10, scan below
                    Greg Walker: card, coaches picture

A scuffle? I've been collecting for almost 20 years and haven't seen a scuffle yet. An argument here and there, but that's about it. I will agree, though, that going to functions like you mentioned is a better way for getting autographs. The sig is usually better, and there's more of an opportunity for Q&A and for a photo with the player.

My pet peeve are the people who try to get a bunch of things signed at the game. My rule of thumb is that during ST, I usually had a player two cards. If he signs both, fine. If not, it's no biggie. When the regular season starts, though, I hand the player one card. They have much less time and it sucks when a player has signed 3 or 4 for one person, then leaves without signing yours.

What if you're an autograph collector, just get one signature, and keep it?

I'm pretty sure I was standing by that purple building, the one with the tall blue fence, and that's where I got nearly all of my autographs. But I got mine after or during the game, when the players would start to leave.
