AND SHE IS RIGHT.I spend big money when I go to a game to get either the first or second row so MY KIDS can get an autograph. What stinks is the ADULT who pays half the ticket price walks down and trys to overwhelm kids to get his Ball completed etc..Baseball is for KIDS.what kind of ADULT feels another ADULTS signature is sooooooo important they have to intimidate or push a kid.NO NOBODY has EVER pushed me or my kids..But i'm anxiously waiting.
No one here is going to disagree with you on your basic point, wogdoggy. I'm sure those of us with children or who are around children would do exactly what you would do. Just to let you know, Ted Williams would only sign for kids when he was playing.

I agree that when it comes to autographs and stuff, letting kids get their fill is the correct thing to do, but "Baseball is for Kids"?

That's just crazy. If that were true, there wouldn't be a person on this site over the age of 14, and only families at baseball games. I go to at least a few games a year...and haven't brought a kid with me since my little brother grew up. Should I stay home in case a kid wants my seat?

          That I'll agree with.

First thing I do when I sit at any game...whether it's a minor or major league game, is look around and find the closest little kid. First off, it's a blast to watch them enjoy the game, and second, if I ever catch a foul ball, I plan to immediately hand it off, and I figure if I already have the target picked out, I can get the ball in that kid's hand that much faster.

I think most people here collect autographs because if reminds them of their childhood...how fun it was to watch this game before you knew about things like steroids, contracts, and all that stuff that makes the game less of a game. As long as they're not being those jerks you describe, I have no problem with it.

See, you're taking things to the extreme again. Now you're assuming that we're stalking players? Get a life.

you dont think the guys making a living on e bay are stalkers? they wait in the hotel lobbys for these players...actually its pretty pathetic for a grown man to want another grown mans signature{MY OPINION}..and to watch these folks push shove and manipulate to get them is pathetic. Now if you fall in this category YEAH you are pathetic. If not dont worry be happy.

You dont see me in the picture I posted at the restaurant but you do see the kids dont you?

AUTOGRAPHS are a big business and when there is money involved it will bring out the worst in adults too.

Oh, I get it. . . in addition to adults getting autographs, you also think it's wrong for you to have your picture taken with a player? Thanks, it'll actually be easier for me to consider the source when reading your drivel.

And I'll be sure to let you know how I made out at tomorrow's Rockies/DBacks game. To complete the experience, I'll be sure to shove some kids aside

What was this thread even about again? Why don't you just go cry about it wogdoggy, with the old lady at wrigley field. Besides, no one can even hear anything you say anymore, because you're on just about everyone's ignore list. For those few that are still wondering how to use the "ignore" feature, just simply click on wogdoggy's name, go to public profile, and at the top it says "add to ignore list", and click that.

That's silly. The majority of kids at the ballpark are annoying as hell because, I don't believe, that their parents care if they are running wild or underfoot or not. I don't think adults need to take a back-seat to kids (especially other peoples kids) when it comes to baseball.

I think it really depends on the way the adult handles the autograph seeking.

For example, I have interacted with two adults (they were together) who blocked the area by the dugout, trying to get all their stuff signed. A day later, I got there about an hour early, and when they showed up, one of them whined about how they should be at the front, for various reasons (could recognize players by face, etc.).
Yet, I have also talked to two adults (also together) who, while seeking many autos, still took the time to ask others who they needed, and let way for them to come forward when said player(s) came to the dugout.
Me, at a Boston restaurant, to a waiter:
Are you sure the Manny Ramirez (name of burger) isn't a sloppy joe?
