  • 1942 World Series Cardinals Team Signed Ball

In 1942 the Cardinals won the World Series and the ball used for the last out, was signed by the team, plus the manager and the National League President.

That ball was put up for the fans in some sort of raffle and/or contest, which my now deceased uncle won, of all places, while living in Cuba. And to make the story even more puzzling, the town which he lived in, was also named St. Louis, but in Spanish of course, that being San Luis in the province of Oriente.

His son, my cousin, has brought the ball from Cuba and we are all amazed by this story and are wondering if anyone can shed some light on this, and of course, the value as a collector's item.

Just to name a few of the more well known players, the ball is signed by Enos Slaughter, Max Lanier, Stan Musial (Although the M is chipped) and all the players on the team roster, plus the manager Billy Southworth and Nat'l League President Ford Frick.
