  • It was a muggy night of graphing in Durham on Friday but a very successful evening. It was also a very weird evening. The game went 14 innings and Rays' infielder Jake Elmore came on to pitch the top of the 14th in a tie game. Nick Franklin won the game with a base hit in the bottom of the inning and Elmore picked up the victory.

    Here are the results:

    J.P. Arencibia 4/21
    Corey Brown 3/3
    Scott Diamond 2/10
    Jake Elmore 3/4
    Dylan Floro 10/10
    Nick Franklin 4/19
    Bradin Hagens 4/4
    Hak-Ju Lee 4/20
    Jhan Marinez 2/2
    Mikie Mahtook 1/1
    Matt Moore 1/4
    Richie Shaffer 11/30
    Blake Snell 1/1
    Everett Teaford 2/2
    Kirby Yates 2/2

That legendary grapher in Durham came over to the Durham side and wanted to argue about what door certain players were exiting from. Good grief Charlie Brown! LOL

      • It was doubleheader action tonight. First pregame at the Hickory Crawdads and Greensboro Grasshoppers at NewBridge Bank Park in beautiful downtown Greensboro.

        Hickory

        Dillon Tate 6/6

Greensboro (All of these were on a Greensboro team set which just came out Thursday and all were 1/1). I really like the Greensboro team set this year. It is basically the 1974 Topps card design which is a "Heritage look".

        Ryan Aper
        Felix Castillo
        Mason Davis
        Michael Mader
        John Norwood
        Jeremy Powell
        Arturo Rodriguez
        Brian Schales
        Zach Sullivan
        Justin Twine

After that, it was on the road to the Durham Bulls Athletic Park for some post game graphing. This was not one of my better nights as the Bulls are really limiting now including Richie Shaffer.

        J. P. Arencibia 2/17
        Andrew Bellatti 1/1
        Scott Diamond 2/8
        Jake Elmore 1/3
        Hak-Ju Lee 4/16
        Matt Moore 1/3
        C.J. Riefenhauser 1/1
        Richie Shaffer 3/20
        Blake Snell 1/1
        Kirby Yates 1/1

I did not see Enny Romero, Jose Dominquez, Mikie Mahtook, or Kyle Snyder

The legendary grapher was there but he was busy hammering Columbus and did not have time for the Durham side. Perhaps that is why I did not have a great night because I was needing direction and focus. LOL

          • It was the last Friday night home game of the season for the Durham Bulls. The cross state Charlotte Knights were in town and they are just awful. I wonder why I even continue to graph them because they are just a miserable team.

            Here are the results:

            DURHAM

            Nick Franklin 5/15
            Hak-Ju Lee 5/12
Mikie Mahtook 1/3 I got him pre-game and I tried to double dip post game. Mahtook was not amused and very abruptly said "I signed for you before the game" and gave me the death stare. I do not think that I will be asking for any more autographs from him this season because he is obviously tired of me. I understand.
            Richie Shaffer 10/17
            Kyle Snyder 8/14 (6 for sigman101)

            CHARLOTTE

            Jason Coats 3/3
            Tyler Colvin 1/1
            Chris Curley 2/2
            Matt Davidson 2/3
            Richard Dotson 3/6
            Kyle Drabek 1/1
            Junior Guerra 1/1
            Erik Johnson 1/4
            Ryan Newman 1/1
            Joel Skinner 4/4
            Daniel Webb 2/2

              • The minor league season is coming to a close and I always find myself feeling a little bummed this time of the year. I have always loved baseball and hot weather. I am a "passive" football fan but really love hockey but not to the extent of my passion for baseball. Hockey is just something that I enjoy until pitchers and catchers report. Hopefully with all of the young talent in Buffalo this season, the Sabres will at least be competitive. I traveled to NewBridge Bank Park for some Tuesday evening graphing yesterday. Here are the results.

Mike Bibbo 1/1 (athletic trainer in team set)
                James Buckelew 1/1
                Rony Cabrera 1/1
                Jorgan Cavanerio 1/1
                Jose Ceballos 1/1
                Kyle Fischer 1/1
                Enderson Franco 1/1
Trevor Ging 1/1 (strength and conditioning coach for team set)
Guilford the Grasshopper 1/1 (mascot for team set)
                Tyler Kolek 1/1
Luis Quinones 1/4 (1 for eracer24)--I am having to take it easy on him. I think that I have worn him out and I can tell that he does not want to sign for me but he does not want to say no because I have given him a lot of cards and photos this summer.
                Kevin Randel 1/1
                Austen Smith 1/1
                K. J. Woods 1/1

                • Tonight it was baseball action across the state in downtown Charlotte, North Carolina where the Durham Bulls played their final 2015 road series in Charlotte. This game featured both benches emptying in the eighth inning over a couple of hit batsmen but no punches were thrown.

                  Here are the results:

                  Matt Davidson 1/1
                  Scott Diamond 2/7
                  Jose Dominquez 1/1
                  Jake Elmore 1/1
                  Ernesto Frieri 9/12
                  Drew Garcia 1/1
                  Onelki Garcia 1/3
                  Micah Johnson 1/4
Brad Penny 1/2 This is the first time that I have gotten him this season.
                  Kyle Snyder 6/6
                  Neftali Soto 4/4

I really hope that Charlotte gets some new talent next season. Those guys are brutal and I just hate graphing that team.

I am hopefully closing out the season on Monday with the Norfolk Tides at Durham Bulls which is a 1:05 PM game.

                      • My last IP of the 2015 calendar year took place yesterday. My wife and I braved flash flood warnings all the way to Spartanburg, SC where I nabbed the former Red Gookie Dawkins on an OMLB on the sweet spot in blue ink.
