Over the past few years I have been collecting quite a few pieces of mets memorbilia. Nothing has been too expensive as of yet (I am only 24 lol), but it's still a collection i've grown to be quite proud of.
--One yearbook from EVERY year from 1962-2007.
--Atleast one program from every year.....except 1963, 1967, and 1978 (will get one from those years eventually)
--numerous books and magazines
--a 1962 Sports Illustrated with Casey Stengal on the cover
--the program from the first game at shea, april 17, 1964
--the program from Tom Seaver's return to shea as a Red, August 1977
--a popcorn holder from the polo grounds with Mr. Met on it
--2 drinking glasses from the first year of shea and the world's fair
--a booklet previewing shea stadium from late 1963
--a 1965 mets coloring book
--6 subway posters from 1980 with 6 different players on them with the ad slogan "The Magic Is Back"
--a 1969 daily news player portrait set
--numerous pins from the 60's till now
--autographs of George "the stork" Theodore, Buddy Harrelson, Ed Charles, Ed Kranepool, Rafeal Santana, Kevin McReynolds, John Stearns, and John Olerud
--a Shea Medallion from the 1976 Bi-Centenial
--a dvd collection of mostly regular season games (with most post season games from 1986-2006) from about 1983-now, that is about 200 games.
--many more items, too many to list here, but these are the highlights and main pieces.
I started this probably about 5 years ago, I have always been a mets historian and once I got into the collecting aspect of it, it's pretty addicting.
