Too bad there isn't a photo of Johnny visiting Babe when the Babe was gravely ill with cancer...at least, I haven't seen one. I'm sure it was a touching moment for all involved, Johnny repaying the favor of a visit like that."I throw him four wide ones, then try to pick him off first base." - Preacher Roe on pitching to Musial

Both Johnny Sylvester. There was a time span of two years and boys grow quite fast at that age.
The first is from 1926, the second he visits Babe in 1928.
Wonder what happen to these treasures. Johnny received a few balls signed by the 1926 Yanks, a tennis raquet from Bill Tilden, a signed football from Red Grange and not sure of this, a pair of signed boxing gloves from Jack Dempey.

1) The Babe watches Lou running in behind him at the plate. This scene would be repeated over and over and over and over......BTW, who the hell is that "Where's Waldo" kid on the left!!!
2) Babe crosses the plate as a Boston Brave - April 16, 1935

The Babe sleepin' in the laundry....or something like that.
I'd assume that this is from one of his short films. Looks like an art production still judging from the hand-painted outline around him. Maybe used for a movie poster/ad? I have NO info for it otherwise...still a great/classic pic though...and as always, rare.
Cheers! ~B

I'm sure many of us have seen this great, later years portrait of The Babe. However, I doubt that many have seen it in this size and clarity.

Here's a great, very large-size pic of The Babe with the Red Sox. Not sure of the year but I would guess 1918-19...he doesn't appear to be really skinny like he did when he first came up.
