Notice that to save their cleaned uniforms for the WS games, they're wearing the old 2-toned stockings from the older days. They hadn't worn those for league games since 1921! Players in spring training, to save their new uniforms, often wore the uniforms from years past.

Babe and Muddy were good friends.

In 1927 Babe hit number 58,59 and 60 with Muddy calling the pitches as the Washington Senator's catcher.
Paul Hopkins gave up number 59. Paul said Muddy came out to the mound, told Paul if we get to a 3-2 count, we can fool the Babe by throwing the curve, 3 and 2 he'll be looking fast ball. It did go to 3-2 and Paul threw the curve. Ruth was fooled according to Paul, he was out in front but then pulled back his bat and with a quick swing there was number 59.

Number 60 in 1927.
Number 713 in 1935 Forbes Field.

That 713 was his second home run in that game, you can see the ball on it's way out. Later he hit his third home run of the game, number 714 which was the first ball to be hit out of the park.
He was sick and his legs were in bad shape. After his third home run he sat in the opposing team's dugout the Pirates so he would have a shorter distance to take his place in the outfield when the Braves took the field.
