    Twelve days of baseball

    On the twelve days of Christmas, a true fan gave to me-
    Ted Williams humming
    A Young-un' na-amed Cy-clone
    Ten Georges Hermans
    Nine (racist) Ansons
    Eight Mays like Willie
    Seven Mikes a Schmidt-ing
    Six "geese" like Gossage
    Five Lou Gehrigs
    Ho-onus Wagner
    Three "Bench John"s
    Two-oo Lefty Groves
    And a Rogers who's na-amed Hornsby.
    (this song includes at least one player in each position)
    Mythical SF Chronicle scouting report: "That Jeff runs like a deer. Unfortunately, he also hits AND throws like one." I am Venus DeMilo - NO ARM!         Five GOLDEN GLOVES!...four rangy shortstops, three fleet outfielders, two brawny catchers, and a pitcher that's 6 foot three.

        On the sixth day of Christmas my true love gave to me...
        Six no hit innings, five GOLDEN GLOVES!...four rangy shortstops, three fleet outfielders, two brawny catchers, and a pitcher that's 6 foot three.
