    • There went another five years off of my life. You know without baseball I could rightly live 150 years. But then what kind of life would there be without baseball.

You know I sensed something from this team that I hadn't in a while. I got that "we're going to win no matter what" vibe and that's a good sign as the season changes. At least the Yanks and BoSox know how to celebrate an anniversary . Thanks Boomer.

        • 8 hours after Mo's last pitch, all the Boston fans are still hiding out. They may run, but they can't hide, and I won't seek. Come out from underneath the covers, and don't get your hopes worked up, since you just may still be the odd man out this October!

From the Bleachers, I was wondering the whole time who'd blink first. I was thinking that Boomer would lose the game, and Andy and Roger would win theirs. Uniquely, just the opposite happened, and Wells refused to lose this one. He can say all he wants to Howard Stern, he showed he loves pinstripes today, despite giving up a few hits.

              Hiding?

We won 2 of 3. Why would we hide? We're a game closer, your pitchers are now as cold as your bats. Your on a long home-stand, so the RED SOX NATION are feeling fine. Sox are on their toes while the Yanks are on their heels...
              We've got the momentum....

You Bostonians are always AWOL after a loss to the Yanks... I assumed you might just be drinking.

You guys sure seem to get here quickly when the
                BoSox win tho.

Rough day for the Pats too. 31-0!

Every single loss, I don't see one of you guys. It never fails. YM and myself were here after the 11-0 "crushing" you'd mentioned, but a sole Yankee victory in this series, everyone's out. Heck, I had to see somebody for a movie which is why I came back late.

Oh well, we'll see what your reaction time is in the ALCS, given that you get there, but I'm sure you won't!

Selective memory, I presume. They should look at the time the game ended to the time 18-24 hours later when they finally finally show up to see we're correct in this.

                      • Just came back from Boston spanking the O's 8-4. How badly did they beat them? I'm sure that Baltimore didn't stand a chance!

You mean Baltimore won? Gee, wouldn't that mean Boston went 2-2 their last 4 games, just like us? I guess we're back at 3.5 ahead, just like before, eh?

Game ends about 10:45pm or 10:50pm Monday. Let's see how long they take to get here.

Well, you know they have to stop at a bar and drink first. Wait, the game was in Baltimore -- they're already at the bar!

PS -- I think they show up here but hide in the shadows... Until they think everyone's left for the night.

                            • Well... ummm... We got 4 homeruns, to tie the team record of 213 in a season...

Actually this game was nothing for either team to be proud of. It was a mess; pitching was bad all the way around (I mean, really, the O's won but their closer gave up a home run to the #8 hitter, c'mon), fielding was shockingly awful, and the umps blew several calls, for both teams. Even if we'd won I'd be ashamed. Less ashamed, but still ashamed.

It was a rotten game.Mephitic, noisome, fetid, odiferous, a real stinkeroo.

                              Well... we'll get them tomorrow.

Your "#8 hitter" was Bill Mueller, the *only* MLB player to hit a granny from both sides of the plate in the same game, who's leading in the bat race with a .327 to Jeter's .325. He also has a .930+ OPS and went 4 for 5 today. C'mon, he was the #2 hitter on Sunday, as he was a few games before this, and I don't think his stats change because Little changed the BO. I've seen Tek in the #8 spot, and I don't think he's a weak hitter either, unlike last season's Tony Clark.

IMO, a #8 hitter has a .250 BA and a .700 OPS, about 5-10 HRs all season, but can at least field. In the NL, they call them "Rey Ordonez", since they bat before the pitcher.

Yeah, fielding was pretty sloppy. Even Kim got an E1, which saved his ERA I guess.

Told you Rodrigo Lopez stunk. Now if only Burkett and the Williamson/Kim combo could've kept a few more in the park.
