Anyway, make sure you two end up within a game or 2 of each other, and just above Boston. No 1 game playoffs allowed. On second thought, that may not be so bad. I hear that Boston's not so good at those (1948 (CLE), 1978 (NYY)).
Well, it doesn't look like a sweep. Oh well. By the way, Zito75 went to the Arizona-Packers game, that's why he has been "MIA".

      • Yeah, that 18 year drought was hell.

I can't even imagine what it's like in Boston, Chicago, or Cleveland.

What about Seattle? We've NEVER been to the WS, even with some incredible teams.

At least Boston and Cleveland have seen World Series action in the past 18 years.

Here in Chicago,18 years is like a walk in the park. We'll overturn cars on Division Street over a Wild Card berth.

Talk about misery. The Mariners were created in 1977, and none of the Chicago teams have gone to the WS since 1959(I think, when the Sox went). The last time the Cubs went was the time when WWII ended(1945). I think the Chicagoans have suffered the most in baseball.

I'm glad to hear you paid attention and read all of the posts. Oh wait, you didn't. If you had, you would've noticed that YankeeMan mentioned that the Yankees 18 year drought was rough, and then continued to mention Chicago, Boston, and Cleveland, and how they must feel. My statement was in response to this, as the M's 26 year "drought" is greater than the Yankees. Never did I talk about the M's suffering more than Chicago.

                  • You want WHICH HAT?!!!

I can't prove it but I'm sure it was Drillerman or CardFanNV that corrupted my son.

I took him into the LIDS store and let him pic a hat -- see attached pic to see what he had me buy.

When I catch the sons o' snitches who did this... <shakes fist at screen>

                      • I'd have to say Dodgers-Giants. I mean, any rivalry in which one side kills a fan of the other side is pretty intense. It's been going on for more than 50 years.

Well, actually the rivalry is much older than 50 years. It goes back to when both teams were in New York. In fact, a fan was killed there too.

It goes back to at least the 1930s, but it became fueled up with Bobby Thomson's "Shot Heard Around the World."

I know about the Yankees-Red Sox and Cubs-Cardinals rivalries, but those are pretty much one-sided. Dodgers-Giants is more balanced. IMO

I'll let Ken, Mattingly, and YankeeMan feild that statement. I'm sure they'll have plenty of input on this.
