Brown was a 1- or 2-inning pitcher who could've done that successfully, had he pitched around Ortiz.

I respect you very much, but you can either blame the person who makes a mess, or you can blame the person who's seen his last game, and still puts him in a position to create that mess in the first place.

Vazquez, Loaiza, Sturtze and El Duque were available. Between them, they surely could've done 8 innings.

In Game 7, just play tag-team, and who cares who can or can't go 5 innings. No law saying the SP has to get the win. Just get the win and don't be fussy whether it's your closer, mid-reliever or batboy who gets the win. Just win the game. Brown wasn't the right guy.

I'm just crabby tonight, so please forgive me. I'm just restraining myself due to a poorly-managed game. Oh well, have to see if Sweet Lou still hates George.

I'm gonna go on record as saying that if we lose tonight, there's at least a 60% chance that I'll never watch another baseball game as long as I live.

I don't know how I'll be able to deal with the humilation. We're down 2-0 in the second, but it feels like 10-0. This thing is over... and I'm pretty sure, so is my career as a baseball fan. There's losses, and then there's losses. I don't think losing a 3-0 series lead is the kind of thing I could recover from.

Heaven forbid the Yankees don't make the world series for the third time in the last eight years

Ok. What's going to be the deciding factor that will be the difference between these two teams? For me, I think the tremendous offense of both teams cancel out each other. I think Boston's starters, especially Schilling and Martinez, will be the difference. St. Louis, although pretty solid, doesn't seem to have an ace/stopper. I really didn't follow their pitchers as much as their hitters during the year. Am I on target here or am I missing something?

You're not missing anything - their pitching is not big-name but has been getting it done quietly. The offense is so powerful it overshadows the pitching.

I'm pulling for Boston this year, but every time I've seen Pedro pitch I get the same uneasy feeling I do when the Mets go to the bullpen. It's like the game is suddenly up for grabs. But then, I've really only seen Pedro against the Yankees.

Yeah, it does. But blame YM mostly. Hey, I'm not the guy who did that. Besides, I've only been here the past 1-1/2 yrs.
