  • Hey Biggerin, didn't you say Walker reminded you of Buckner? I guess I know what you mean now.

In all fairness, I got my wish, it was a great game, and the Yanks won. Still the Yanks started the series 4 up and ended it 4 up.

OK, but only under one condition: if we lose, I can use a picture of Teddy as my av, since I can't stand those patched red sox.

Please post your request in the "wager" thread to get a reaction from the crowd.

          • hats off to pettitte and mussina. I'm not gonna try to come out with any excuse for these last two games, we just got beat.

            We'll sweep you in boston.

              Appreciated.

When I had more confidence in the geezers, it was the 30 somethings who did the job. Andy hasn't had a game like that since last season at YS when he did a CG/SHO, outlasting about 8 Mets pitchers.

If not for that almost error by Pride, Moose could've had an 8-inning SHO. Pedro wasn't giving anything up, knew when to stop the charge at 2 outs, 2 balls. He's a tough cookie, even if he needs to have the hitter chase a few balls low and wide.

Everyone's sanity, and avs and sig are safe, so we'll see who brings the big broom next time.

BTW, in the "wager" thread, we should include a bonus or penalty if one team sweeps.

The thing I learned this weekend is: There's little or no stress watching the series when you win the first two. I realized this after someone {Whew!} was able to take his first relaxed breath in two days!!! ___

You mean YM? That "Whew!" represented what tons of us were experiencing yesterday and today. Lots of dignity and honor, as well as standings at place.

That and having to see some sig and av I didn't exactly want to wear.

That's up to the Commish, YM and VT. I don't know if you're going to paint the town fire engine red, but I've heard that one before.

I can't do that to you guys, since I don't really talk smack here. In the bleachers with the "Yankees Suck" BoSox fans, that's a different story.

If we're gonna go to town, I say we make a duded up sig that the other wouldn't dare wear in front of friends and family, as far as how it treats their own team.

                      • lol, i was just joking as a co-moderator of the bosox foum, I don't want you yankee fans having any power

But all I'd do is edit all the posts to say "Red Sox Forever" and "Gosh, I just LOVE the Red Sox" and stuff. I'd let ken do the fun stuff

                              • I was only counting World Series game 7's at first. Then I decided that 1-game playoff's hurt too. So, I added '48 & '78...
