    3-for-3 tonight w/Beantown?
    Hey Matt,
In your opinion, what are the Yankees going to do with Brown?
At $15-17 M this year, banished to the bullpen or outright release? :noidea

    • A Gem today . . .
Bronson pitched a no-hitter thru 7 1/3 today and now hasn't lost in his last 15 games started . . . During this whole Detriot series, Boston's starters have really picked up their team.

      BTW . . . How's
your starters been lately? {oops...} :o

They're just lulling the competition into a false sense of security.... (At least that's what I keep telling myself )

More like Cano laid an egg with the errors. At least Henn got a promotion to Columbus (OH) AAA, from Trenton (NJ) AA. Hey, I still think he did better than Kevin Brown, at about 2-3% of the salary (even if he'd stayed a full season).

Now let's see what Wang can do against TB. We *CANNOT* lose 3 of 4 to that team, and I don't care which legend is managing them.
Okay, Matt, tell us: How'd the Yanks do in the Trop tonight? (Ethel and I might have swiped some caps, but we didn't steal all your pitchers. What's happening?) Actually, I listened to the game on the radio, and John Sterling was almost beside himself.

Incidentally, our #6 Starter, voted (at the end of spring training) Most Likely To Go To The Bullpen When Miller Gets Off The DL, spun a gem in Detroit today -- 8IP, 3 hits, 2BB, 1 run, and a 4-0 record this year. Yeah, the guy with the funny windup and aspirations of becoming a rock star. Since our #1 and #2 went on the DL, things have turned around. Funny ol' world, innit?

            Hey, Matt, the CANNOT happened...

But I did notice that the boids :gt and the sox won, and the did not. Even the rays won.

            1. Kevin Brown, the wall hitter, is being paid WHAT? Goodbye, Cashman?,Torre? bets are already being placed.

            2. I have no alibi. I, like Annie, have no use for one Ycap, never mind 47K of them, but some people I know like to pull a spectacular prank at the Harvard-Yale football game each year... but me? :noidea Timid, mild lil me? (I admit, I cuffed a female Sox fan that put her weight on my right shoulder as she climbed over seats to get more beer. Six months of physical therapy, and continuing ...AND SHE TALKED DURING THE NATIONAL ANTHEM.) As for the 300 lb YFan sitting in back of me, dribbling beer down his front; there are some things even adults should not see!!!

            3. Now, after I recover from birthday and other stuff week, I'm gonna write Annie a nice long PM. She and I are kindred spirits. Matt, thank you very much for the birthday gift. The pranksters at MIT are very busy.

            4. Snnnzzzzz......umm, Matt, you do realize what a dangerous combination Lucy and Ethel are? Add Ken as Moe, or Curly, or Larry...heh...

            5. Wakefield. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

            • Don't you Beantowners have any compassion with us, poor Yankee fans?

We are not used to this anymore. You Bostonians must still know how it is to have a season like this; it's not that long ago for you guys

But thank goodness that the Orioles are still in first place :gt

                  • Oh goshkies, how the dead and depressed suddenly awake once their luck kicks in. Any TB fans here to lay the smack down? Ahhhhh, I feel like such a glutton for punishment today.

Now then, wazzup w/Arroyo? He's doing mighty fine these days. I'll trade him for Kevin Brown and we can take up a collection to pay all of his salary. I'll leave clean up that rusty, nasty, tobaccy-strewn trunk, clean up the hog mess that's dried up in there since about 1990 or so, and even fumigate it (like that'll do some good). Hey, how about it?

Now that the Boids and the Sox are still heating it up, I hereby commandeth thee to cool off like an ice cube and stop winning. Let the winning ways return to the Yankees, where it rightfully should be. The Yankees will be powerful and invincible once again. Hopefully, sometime this year.

                    Hiya, CB! :gt

I see that Ken's got an extra set of wardrobe there. Quite a few wigs, too. Oh well, we tend to look the other way with "alternating lifestyles around here". Right, Ms Ken?

I doubt that . . . After all the Yankees always beat everyone when it comes to signing and over-paying has-been pitchers . . .

To the Yankees' credit, the Dodgers gave Kevin Brown that outrageous deal. But it still doesn't answer for Pavano and Wright.

At least I do. And Ken and El Halo.
