      it's 33% more.

      60 mil (60 total)-33%
      60 mil (120 total)-33% highest of rest
      60 mil (180 total)-33% Yanks

so the diffference between the yanks and the next highest is 33% of the total amount.

YM, I realize you're the moderator here, but can we not bait the BoSox fans so much? I mean, c'mon, I *invited* Fanatic into this thread, just so that we could all joke, banter in good fun. I'd like to keep it at this, and sometimes when you get into "chokes" or talk about past failures too much, that can really irritate some.

I don't like saying this, but can we just tone it down slightly? Thanks.

                • hehe, you don't wanna go toe-to-toe with me with math

                  no.
                  it's 33% more.

                  60 mil (60 total)-33%
                  60 mil (120 total)-33% highest of rest
                  60 mil (180 total)-33% Yanks

so the diffference between the yanks and the next highest is 33% of the total amount.
everyone else is 33% LESS, but by your numbers, the yankees have 50% more

                  120 + 50% = 180

besides, it helps your argument even more.

                      • actually, to use the actual figures as shown on this site:

                        New York Yankees (1): $152,749,814
                        New York Mets (2): $117,176,429
                        Boston Red Sox (6): $99,946,500
Tampa Bay Devil Rays (30): $19,600,000

So the yankees have a 30.4% advantage over the mets, 52.8% advvantage over the red sox and 679.3% advantage over the tampa bay devil rays, in terms of salary.

However, the mets have a 17.2% advantage over boston, yet they are 16.5 games behind us, so salary doesn't necessarily mean anything.

Yes, but please, have mercy on them anyway. A big bowl of seafood chowda depends upon this mercy.

(assuming they can get the game in)

Not even for *two* big bowls of your favorite seafood chowda? Freshly caught from Maine and prepared right in front of you?

One more thing: Maroth was sure to lose tonight (sorry, racosun), and I'm not sure Pettitte (spell it right, my friend ) could've beaten Halladay. That said, if God ain't a Yankee fan, then I'm sure that Mother Nature is!
