  • Not to mention that sweep you did in October 2004 made me turn to an anti Red Sox person for doing the improbable on a suddenly weak team. I doubt the Sox and Cardinals will meet in the World Series for a while. If it weren't for that stupid Julian Tavarez, not caring about his team and acting like a buffoon...

His whole career is mostly marred in controversy. How do I know? He attacked Mike Matheny in 1996, made a homophobic comment about San Francisco in 2001. Three years later, he was ejected and suspended for 10 games because he had sandpaper in his glove. Tavarez then attacked Joey Gathright this year, and I think he's a terrible teammate.

Oh, and enjoy your flight, Boston Red Sox...

      • Dear Li'l Ken,

The local cartoonist, Bill Gallo, apologized for delivering his toon late. Seriously.

Hey Boston, put a sock on it!
I know the cartoon you see here should've run the day after the 2-1 Yankee victory that made it a five-game sweep of the Boston Red Sox, but as they say in a poker game, "It got lost in the shuffle."

So, forgive me if I'm late, but it's worth running today because Yankee cheers are still ringing in my ears. Besides, it's never too late to put a sock on it.

If this was a poker game between Joe Torre and Terry Francona, it would be simple knowing which one was holding the better hand. There's Francona sweating, looking worried, holding his cards close to the vest, knowing he's got another crummy hand. Joe, meanwhile, sits patiently, a calm, stoic expression on his face. Watching the two, you kind of know who's going to win the pot.

In this crucial five-game series, there were always a pair of aces in the hole - the "Boom-Boom" twins, Papi Ortiz and Manny Ramirez. But, sad for Francona, that was it!
        Anyway, here's his forgotten masterpiece:

Anyway, make sure that Tito continues having faith in Timlin. We Yankee fans are happy that he's Mr Reliable!

        Movie time!

Is it just me, or is Snakes on a Plane seem like one of the dumbest names ever for a movie.

          • Let's make fun of the Yankees AND the BoSox for each losing to their series to the Mariners!

            • Speaking of the Mariners, we have the most bitter rival of all, The World Series! Oh how it mocks us, and denies us again and again.

                  • If the Red Sox lose tonight, they get special Oakland A's/Seattle Mariner avatars for a week. Somehow, if they should lose to the A's tomorrow, they get to don an Oakland signature and a Seattle avatar as their sweeping punishment. How does that sound?

Note: Yes, my 500th post here at Baseball-Fever in the most popular thread on the forums!

Victory time is over for me. Here comes more despiration for the Red Sox! I hope there isn't a leak on the Red Sox boat, because I suspect a leak. Want to see it? Hint hint: something that is spelt bullpen. Well tough. Here it is, the 2006 leak of the Red Sox's SS Bullpen:

Shoot, I was late to the church service in Boston around 4 Yawkey Way. Maybe I should look at it again, and it should say something similar to the Red Sox's second-half of 2006. I do not know if there is hope for them, but here we go:

Have fun with the silly images.

                        Gee, it's a real shame . . .
                        that you didn't match your post-game 'smack' with a pre-game 'bet' . . .

At least we never got swept under the carpet by the last-place M's.

The Yanks haven't played in 2 days yet gained a game. Gee, I wonder if any Beantowners can explain this phenomenom?

Is it dinner time yet? I need a fork for that jive turkey.

biggest choke in the history of all competitive sports.

Now that's one 'choke' record that will never be broken!
