-The Yankees begin a decade of intense dominance with the great murderers row while the Red Sox flounder in a state of confusion after buying into the story that selling Ruth would help the team. The Yankees field the greatest offense in history with the greatest 1B in history and the greatest player in history. They also field unquestionably the greatest team in history in 1927.

-The Yankees sign the great Joltin Joe DiMaggio and the Red Sox match this by signing Ted Williams in the lone bright spot of all Red Sox offseasons. Gehrig sadly retired in the year of 1939 when Ted Williams was signed. Joe quickly broke upon the scene and won a quick championship extending the Yankees truly amazing dominance over Boston

-Joe DiMaggio has his amazing record breaking 56 game hit streak and wins the MVP award over Teddie Ballgame who hit .400 in the same year and beccame "the last .400 man." The curse continued despite the efforts of the 3rd best player in history. The Yankees continued their dominance throughout the prime of Joltin Joe as well.

Sawx pull within 7 1/2 in the AL East, with plenty more to play. Chicago Cubs will finish the season in Iowa, and let their AAA club play the rest of their schedule in hopes of staying ahead of the Pirates and out of the cellar.

Hey fans. It looks like Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes adopted ANOTHER baby, this one named Baby Youki. Want to see a picture of him? Here is Baby Youki, the newest addition to their "family."

(for the slow, Baby Youki is Kevin Youkilis)

                      • Hey, Ken, I've been out all day. I haven't checked, but has Jose Contreras finally figured out how to handle those Beantowners in Fenway? I heard he's getting clobbered!

For certain pictures, there's the "Only a Mother could love that kid" thing. I believe that there is now an exception to the "no baby is ugly" thing and Baby Youki fits that mold.

Boy, Tom & Kate have gotta do a better job on making pretty babies.

You kinda forgot the part where he incited a brawl and started the whole Yankees-Red Sox rivalry. And the part where the Red Sox win the first WS ever. And the Yankees never win the AL pennant.

Oh, and guess what I learned today? The term "Yankee" was originally a derogatory term dating to Civil War days, when it was used by Southerners to describe Northerners. So naming a team the New York Yankees is like naming a team the L.A. Crackheads.

But you don't tell their mommas that. We were always taught to insert the phrase "Aw, bless his/her/its heart." when what we really mean is "Egads, what happened to that critter??"

Contreras looks like the next 300 game winner, if you count all those games in Fidelville.

It is right. Not just an ugly baby, but a Red Sox player baby. Boy, that takes the cake!

Anywayyyyyyyyyyyyz ... Yanks win, an ex-Yanke beats up on Beantown, they lose. The Evil Ones score 8 runs courtesy of 6 hickory smoked ribeyes by Hip-Hip ... Jorge, who's "En Fuego" about now. He knocked the secret sauce outta them meatballs and mashed them taters.

Another nail in the coffin of Beantown as the "Wait'll next year" signs begin cropping up at the local 5 & dime stores. No chowda for them!

Now then, will KC further sully their spirits ... and their shaky standings? Inquiring Yankee minds would like to know.

And if the Beantowners don't like 2nd place, then Toronto surely will.
