Don't worry, I'm only owning up to my part of the bet, as I do wish the events went the other way.

It was a series I thought we'd win, but you can't win em all. Two more months left to play, and we haven't been more than 1/2 game back. We'll see how it goes when we get further down to the wire.

PS, I guess the June Swoon will have to wait until August.

            You mean Yankee Baseball?

For the av, I took the lesser of three evils. Those patched red socks, I can't stand, and anything saying "Boston Red Sox", no way. The "B" wasn't as bad, nor as reminding of who we just *almost* beat.

Could it have been the ghost of an ex-Boston pitcher who was somehow responsible for this? Hmmmmm, I wonder.

                  • 6 games left, 3 at fenway, 3 at yankee stadium.

The yankees need 3 wins to ensure winning the season series. The Red Sox need 4.

Either the red sox need to sweep one and not get swept on the other, or we need to win both series.

I would bet on the latter, but either way works for me

P.S. My condolences Mattingly, red is not your color.
I don't have any writeup on game 7 itself, but here is what I do have on the entire WS, including box scores of all games:

The 1975 World Series by Baseball Almanac with a detailed description, complete rosters, cumulative statistics, and box scores!

Hey, I lost a bet, that simple. That's a tough Beantown team, but what can I do. I stuck my neck out and I hope to win the next two series (end of August at Fenway, and early September at YS).

It's only for a week, then TFAM can wear the Yankee colors and sig.

Yeah, well we'll see how much of a "betting" man/woman you really are in the next two series. I'll see if I can drag BC498 and YM in there also.

I can't believe I'm still ticked to no end at how those last two games ended, especially Sunday's.

I don't quite remember those, but I do remember the rainbow ones from the Astros. I don't think I could ever forget that craziness.

How about the green and gold that Charlie Finley put his A's in, or the black and gold of the Bucs and funny caps from the 70s? That's what I'd call *ugly*.

                              • Do you remember Willie Stargell and how they had Fan Appreciation Night with R&B group Sister Sledge? The song was "We Are Family". Do you remember the black caps which were straight at the side and flat at the top? They came to a 90 degree angle.

When you saw that with the goldish yellow unis, that made for a crazy combination.
