  • And all Steinbrenner can do is panic about the dominant force that is the New York Mets. The Yankees are having a subpar season, but the Mets are having tough competition with the Atlanta Braves hovering right behind them, at 1½ games behind. Yet the Yankees are 9½ games behind, in a subpar AL East, other than the Red Sox.

What do you say? Are you ready for Monday against our epic battle? Us Red Sox are MUCH more prepared than last year. After dealing with Atlanta, we're coming down to Babe Ruth's house and take the series.

P.S. How was the Windy City travel for you? Another lost series for you, but none the less, the White Sox still have fuel in the engine, or it must be the Yankees' bullpen is holding up like a small tree in a storm.

I can already see the Daily News headline, Rocket Failure.:

        Miracle lead the legends, 1-0.

Due to, uhmmmmmm ... various technical difficulties, I, as the Grand Poobah of this thread will have to close it down for renovations. Things will certainly return once the Yanks return >.500 and in 1st place. Until then, see yaaaaaaaaaaaaa! (don't wanna be ya, except in 1st place where we're expected).

          • I hate to interrupt the renovations, but can the Yankees overcome their long-term struggles and ACTUALLY win it all? Note the word actually. They haven't won it all since 2000, and we've discussed how many times they choked since then.

Remember 2004 ALCS Mariano Rivera? I do.

              • That ALCS pic of Mo reminds me of this.

Looked like the Sox threw water all over him and he's melting away.

It's a good thing that I'm a Mets fan and can laugh at all of this.

                      Pun intended I assume?
Red Sox looked great today smoke checking the Braves. Beat them again , and that helps widen our lead in the NL East.
EDIT: Maybe not. Just saw the current score of game #2 of the doubleheader.

Big deal..you guys cannot beat us at Fenway this year. 4-2 so far...I'm happy for now.

BTW...has Joey Pitbull been dreaming out loud on the air about how he wants Torre's job?

Gee, I wonder if Bucky Dent has ever beaten Beantown at Fenway. Hmmmmmmmmmm.

A slow start is a slow start. That makes two series against division leaders in which we won't get swept.

Oh, and y'all can still make some noise when ya lose that you do wihen ya win!

Girardi? I can't stand people who "audition" for a job, but with the media. Was this on the YES TV broadcast?
