I think there's hope of him coming around. I mean, Mattingly has come to terms with the fact that he is a Red Sox fan. Right Ken, Biggerin, and FanAtic?

Well, Damian Jackson just homered. In theory we could maybe possibly somehow scratch out 8 runs in 2 innings.
I doubt it though. What a fetid game. I'm going to bed.

Nah, sox do this from time to time. We'll win 4, lose 1, win 3 lose 2, etc. It'll all even out in the end."Endlessly deferred redemption provides, paradoxically enough, its own kind of reward... redsox tonight
sox losing to the rangers is due to the garbage starting pitching we trotted out there.
It is obvious that ramiro mendoza's days are numbered - he's completely lost it.
time for theo to land a real starter so we can stop being out of games before they start.

Reports have Ponson going to Atlanta, and I warned you guys about Mendoza months ago.
He is a spot starter, not a regular member of the rotation. His shoulder is about as weak as Pedro's. I believe that his overuse lead to some of his early season problems and is affecting him here. Now this start he left a couple of mistakes up to a good hitting team and he got beat.
P.S. your old buddy Roger looked pretty good last night.

trade rumors
I heard on WEEI there are reports out of the midwest that the Sox are sending Freddy Sanchez to the Pittsburgh Pirates for Jeff Suppan & Brandon Lyon.
Obviously this is not confirmed and could turn out to be bogus, but if not, I think it's a real good trade. First and foremost, I'd be dissapointed we didn't land Ponson or Vazquez. I would've given up 3 top prospects to land Vazquez.
But that aside, Suppan is a very good pitcher, only 28, makes only 500,000 and the club would hold an option on him for next year. Lyon is also very good, only 24 yrs old, and only makes 300,000. If it is true, here's how I see our pitching staff:
staters:
Martinez
Lowe
Suppan
Wakefield
Burkett
Bullpen:
Kim
Williamson
Sauerbeck
Timlin
Embree
Jones
Fossum
*(Lyon on DL?)
*(Mendoza released - oh please god!)
That's one hell of a staff.
and when Lyon is ok, we actually have more guys than we can fit. If Burkett struggles, they could release him and go with Fossum in the rotation, and add Lyon back to our bullpen, if not, not sure where Fossum-Lyon would fit in. Nice problem to have!
Staff looks alot better with Suppan and Lyon added and Fox & Mendoza removed!!
I'll take out chances with that team.
Go Jeff Suppan!!

I thought it was suppan and sauerbeck from the pirates for freddy sanchez. Still a hell of a deal."Endlessly deferred redemption provides, paradoxically enough, its own kind of reward...
