Just think, only Yankee fans at a game against Beantown. Wouldn't life be merry?

Let me find a rusty trust to hide all of them.

It's way past your bedtime. Chowda sales have officially halted in the entire NE area. Certain team jerseys are being used as washcloth both in NY & NE.

Here, I think that this itty bitty trunk should hold you and Ken.

Or maybe it was made before that. Actually, yeah, it was made before that.

I think that somewhere in the boonies, an outhouse occupant must be making good use of those 19-0 books about now.

In the meanwhile, how soon before you guys & gals give yourselves up before you get trounced by the Mighty New York Yankees? This is your last chance!

Tell Damon and Jeter and A-Rod that they'll only miss the first month of the football season but they'll be sitting in front of the tube after October 1. Jeter can make his early golf reservations now.

Don't be surprised if there's a mass exodus after they suffer a full season under Joey Pitbull

This exodus will be there anyway. Giambi, Abreu, Damon (does his contract expire after this season?), Pettitte.

Nope, that's the biggest I can get it. It can barely hold DSL's mouth. I may need either an aircraft carrier or a supertanker to hold that in the future.

                      • I'ts great that Beantown finally got their ceremony at the White House. They even got to laugh at something real nice.

Then, in a line that even surprised the players, Bush sent a zinger toward absent left fielder Manny Ramirez.

"I guess his grandmother died again," Bush said to prolonged laughter. "Just kidding."

                        * * *

Bush noted the pitching of Japanese player Daisuke Matsuzaka, known as Dice-K. His presence drew a huge number of Japanese reporters.

"His press corps is bigger than mine," Bush said. "And we both have trouble answering questions in English."

Then there was Jonathan Papelbon, the relief pitcher who danced in the Fenway Park infield in his underwear when the Red Sox when the pennant.

"Thanks for wearing pants," Bush told him.

Even in the White House, someone can still zing Beantown!

But, unlike the Yanks, the BoSox never capitlized on the opportunities. True, it's bigger for BoSox fans than Yank fans. But hey, what franchise, in any sport, compares with the Yanks?*
