  • I'm really pleased with the outcome of the A's Yankees series. I predicted a sweep, but I can live with 2/3 games. Now if the M's would starting losing a few more while Tejada is hot!
    WAR? Prove it!

Anyway, I didn't watch yesterday's game, but from what you saw, what did Little do or not do that led to this loss? Did he call for a hit & run which led to someone caught stealing instead? Was a bunt call ill-advised? What did he do that you think he should've done?

I'm also trying to find out, what do you think of his lineups, as well as how he uses the pen, now that he's got a lefty specialist and effectively, two closers (see the "Who Closes?" thread in the Red Sox forum, started by yours truly).
first off - I'm not worrying about any differences in the past. If I don't like something someone says, I'll say so and be done with it. I don't hold grudges. To be honest, I'm busy alot and lose track of who said what last.
      it's all good...
next - grady - as far as the 2nd loss in baltimore - look, I've had it with grady based on a number of things all year - His apologizing was the worse - letting thome go deep twice when he should've been pitched around, etc etc.. - I really don't want to re-hash all that - let's just say I don't think it's a big discovery to decide we could do better than this guy. what did he do wrong in this game? well, he sent burkett out for the 7th when he had williamson in the pen - a super weapon - just waiting to be used. but more than anything, what I was saying is it's what he's NOT doing that seemed to be allowing the losing to continue. I just think the sox needed to be woken up and fired up and I just don;t think he's that type of person. He totally relies on the players to come around. I think in general he lacks instincts of who to leave in and who to take out with the staff - or even who to go to in certain situations.

well we won today, so let's just hope they're gonna feed off of that and start to rebound and do better for awhile.

they have a great team and they're definately still in it.

          I agree with you on that...EVERYBODY does!... Except . . .
Grady, it seems, was the only one who didn't know that sending Burkett out for the 7th was a H-U-G-E mistake that was definitely going to blow-up in his face. Didn't it even occur to ANY of his coaches, or even Burkett for that matter?
Everybody, I've heard from or read feels the same way! {And I mean EVERYBODY}...
My question is: Is the entire coaching staff all "yes" men or are they all too close to the forest to see the trees?
I-just-can't-believe that NO one in the dugout saw the mistake when it was being made. _

Yeah, like that's going to happen. We can't be having a repeat of last season now, can we Zito?

            • So Ken, your boys are 3.5 games behind. Don't worry, the M's will take care of that evil team in front of you. All you guys have to do is beat the Angels and Baltimore. Think you can handle that?

You know that if you drop just one to Detroit, I'll burn you on it, *remembers Detroit's recent visit to the Safe*

                              today. He's clearly having his

                              • Go Anaheim, and the next two weeks, Go A's and Go Seattle!

TFAM, if you're going to take care of anyone, make sure it's Beantown!

Ken, we did sweep Anaheim, so it would be *very* interesting if they beat you in a series. Gee, I'm wondering if the new look pen may be wasted. Anyway, I'm sure that Lackey will suddenly become unhittable tonight, and Suppan will be Suppressed, and will be a Lock to be Rocked!
