How can a team like the Red Sox be part of a great rivalry when they went what, 90 years without a championship?
And now that they have reincarnated and won 2 (!), the Yanks have not won any since then
A good rivalry would be (to me) where teams traded key championships in very near years like say the Steelers and Raiders winning 6 of 7 Super Bowls in the 70s/80s
you dont see that anywhere in the Red Sox and Yankees
it is like saying Hank and Tommie Aaron were the greatest home run brother duo in history
technically yes but the homers were all hit by one guy1. The more I learn, the more convinced I am that many players are over-rated due to inflated stats from offensive home parks (and eras)

It's also Pats vs Jets/Giants.
Bruins vs Rangers.
Celtics vs Knicks.
Boston is about 220 miles from NY. Go to the campus of Boston U. Us MA natives don't call it "Long Island U--Boston Campus" for nothing.
My wife is from Long Island. She's a Met fan. Trust me. If she was a Yankee fan, I never would have given her the time of day.
Also there is a attitude from NYers that seems to take it to another level. We will say the Yankees Suck. they will say Boston/New England Sucks. They will attack the region as a whole, while we confine it to just the Yankees.
It is more than a rivalry..it is a way of life for some.sigpicMan, do I *HATE* the Yankees!!!!!!

I don't hate New England. Well, I'm not too crazy about some of their fans, but that's another story. Please read Baseball Fever Policy and Forum FAQ before posting. 2007-11 CBA

Speaking of Seattle, as they say over a latte and some Meatloaf, well "2 outta 3 ain't bad".Please read Baseball Fever Policy and Forum FAQ before posting. 2007-11 CBA

We knew you Yankee fans would be watching the parade. That's why we yelled it
Keep in mind..."Yankees Suck" is a New England (the region, not the Pats)mantra of sorts.sigpicMan, do I *HATE* the Yankees!!!!!!

Oh well, how's the wife and kids? Oh, and that loud-mouthed guy on your team, too. Oh, I forgot to say which one.
Oh yeah, Papelbum.
Oh, I'm glad that you folks know the number of outs per inning. Wouldn't want to have it any other way.

At least the Yanks got the win streak started, and the Melkman Delivered!
