I'd rather just see who collapses first and hardest. Benitez or Nellie.

This is a ridiculously long thread...anyway there are only 3 rivalries in baseball worth talking about
Yanks-Red Sox- This is the most intense and hateful
Cubs-Cards- This is as friendly as a rivalry can be but still intense
Giants-Dodgers- This like Californians is a more laid back rivalry but when both teams are good can get heated.
As to the difference between the Brave and Indians.. well they are both somewhat offensive but the Indians mascot is extremely offensive and is no different then drawing a jew with a big hook nose, and money signs for eyes or a black man with huge lips and eating a lsice of watermelon or a asian with slanty eyes and a bowl of rice...it is just hideous so I can see why somebody would hate the Indians more then the Braves.. The Indians are my least favorite teamGO CARDINALS!!!!

checking back in
I was off for a few days vacationing in N.H.
So the Sox were 21 games over .500, and 1.5 games out.
Then they lose 4 in a row and drop to 17 games over and 3.5 out.
So then they win 4 in a row, and go back to 21 game sover .500 and cut it back to 2.5 out.
crazy, but also a sign of their resilency.
big double header tomorrow...
especially with the yanks playing the mariners. sox sweep and it will really tighten up.
by the way, I'm starting to imagine the sox best wild card chances are if the A's overtake the Mariners and we beat out the mariners. The a's seeem to be closing in and the mariners seem like they're fading a bit. There will be one team that gets screwed and left our of the playoffs out of the big 4:
Yankees, Mariners, RedSox, Athletics.
I just hope it's not us!
My best guess right now is it will be the Mariners.
I'm kinda glad the yanks lost benitez - he can be dominant, but I'm kind unhappy they got nelson, cuz he was critisizing the m's mgt for not getting players, and so now he's got a chip on his shoulder and will be out to prove them wrong. so he may do well - but, still think he's less of a force than a pitching well benitez would've been.
Yanks seem to gradually be getting worse in my mind. no more brandon claussen on the horizon - that 's good!
Clemens retiring. Wells getting real old.
rivera looking human. no more mondesi or ventura. I don't know. orosco?
they may be slipping. could it be a return to the days of horace clark?
sox just 2.5 back and playing well.
stay tuned.
hey win or lose, isn't this good fun?
gotta love it!
but sox fans have earned a taste of success after all this time!

Some guy named DuBose with the miniscule 1.29 ERA faces Fossum with a 5.56 ERA. Hopefully, the twin killing doesn't just mean a double play here.
Ahhhh, I guess the big offense didn't save them that time. And we had the nerve to complain about Benitez after Williamson goes 1/3, gives up 4!Please read Baseball Fever Policy and Forum FAQ before posting. 2007-11 CBA
