        • 9 Championships in 10 years, 90% success rate. I'd call that Titletown . . . .

What city do you think has earned the right more than Boston in the last decade to be called, Titletown?

Well, if you're only considering the last decade... But the moniker "Titletown," would, it seems to me, imply that you have the most TITLES period (i.e. overall), which we already know is not true (previous posts in this thread).

Yes, I definitely say that title currently belongs to BOSTON. No one else is even close!

But me? I really like baseball.. Hey these are the World Series Championships the other NYC teams have won (8): 1905, 1921, 1922, 1933, 1954, 1955, 1969, and my favorite… 1986.

...and I didn't even mention how many times the Yankees have won... <see sig! >
Boston maybe the sports city of the last decade but it's clearly NOT "titletown.*"
[*Indeed, that specific moniker usually refers to Green Bay, WI.]

I want the, 'color code', you're using for all these, "New York City" teams that you refered to please.
                    Something smells fishy here . . .

Ya, I know Green Bay's been called that in the past for it's room full of titles.

Just for clarity, here you go...

                      NFL/Super Bowl Championships (9):

                      NYG:1927, 1934, 1938, 1956, XXI, XXV, XLII, and XLVI.
                      NYJ: III

                      NBA Championships (2):
                      NYN: 1970 and 1973.

                      Stanley Cups (11):
                      NYR: 1928, 1933, 1940, 1994

                      NJD: 1995, 2000, 2003.

                      World Series titles (35):
                      NYG: 1905, 1921, 1922, 1933, 1954,
                      Brooklyn: 1955,
                      NYM: 1969, and my favorite… 1986.
                      NYY? See sig!

That's 57 World Championships! How many you got Boston*?
[*35 by my count, "titletown" indeed. NYC, can match Boston's TOTAL title count with just their World Series titles!]

Well, I did count the 1914 World Series Champion Braves as a title for Boston. Hey, it's not my fault you paupers can only afford one team per sport. Besides, by your logic, the Foxborough Patriots (22 miles outta' Boston) wouldn't count either.

FYI: Before moving to the Meadowlands, the NY (football) Giants played at a quaint little ballpark in The Bronx...

                          Travel distances from NYC to:
                          East Rutherford, NJ = 13 miles (NYG/NYJ);
Newark, NJ = 10 miles (NJD); and
Long Island, NY = 51 miles (NYI)

I concur with the distinguished gentleman from dear old Bahston about the page turning, but I'm not wholly convinced about the coincidence part. Non sequiter. Foxborough is not in Boston and the topic is titletown. Not "title-geographical-area-ofthe-country." :stare: Otherwise, you'd soon claim that UConn's 2 shinny new titles count for Boston too. If you clain the Pats, you must concede the "New York Metro Area." Indeed, if you Google "map of the new york metropolitan area" this is the very first map:

But it's pointless. NYC proper has 35 WORLD SERIES Championships. That's equal to Boston's TOTAL title count. Clearly...

You guys are just the decade's city. That said, it's been unprecedented run.*
