What are you talking about? You're older than me!

Hey, I'm not say Ken's old but when he says he's been a Carl Yastrzemski fan since he was a kid..."

Ok. I gotta admit, that was a good one. - nod.gifwink.gif
BTW. Did you know that Carl Yastrzemski was the first 'Little-Leaguer' to be inducted into MLB Hall of Fame?

And did you know that Carl Yastrzemski presented me my First Place trophy at our Little League Banquet? I'll never forget him telling everybody how much fun he had beating them Wolverines of Michigan when he played for Notre Dame. He couldn't wait to play the next Sox-Yankee series so he could improve his batting average on Yankees pitching and beat them Yanks.

I shook his potato-picking hand and he autographed something for every little leaguer. This was around 1963 when he was still just a highly touted prospect, and you know the Sox had plenty of them who went on to great real estate careers or sales careers.

Copying his strange batting stance cost me 80 points in my batting average that year. I should have picked some potatoes and built up my wrists.

                1. I am so envious of you! -
                2. I also copied his batting stance when I was a kid. Holding my bat high & perfectly vertical.
                3. He was my baseball hero, god really. How I loved watching him play left field!

Yaz' was overrated. Not that I'm biased or anything. :clown:

Not only is your opinion biased, it's irrelevant too! - nod.gif

If you've got anything left of whatever stuff you're on, I'd like to buy some...

I still think this band of beardless bosox brothers have a little energy left in their tanks. The few days off should help Lester, Lackey, and Buchholz. I noticed that Baltimore has only one AL league leader in batting and pitching stats - N. Cruz. It's anybody's ballgame in the AL East.

With Tanaka injured, Cruz probably on the verge of another PED suspension, and the Jays finally realizing they're not even in the US of A, it's anybody's division to grab!!

                            GO SAWX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

                            Hey, crazier things have happened...
