I think this is going to be a historic pennant race with both teams headed for 100+ wins season. Along with Houston, there could be a 100+ win team that won't be in the ALCS . . .- The Yankees are on pace to win 111 games.
- The Red Sox are on pace to win 109 games.
- The Astros are on pace to win 107 games.
- The Mariners -- yes, the MARINERS! -- are on pace to win 104 games.

At the halfway mark the Sox finished with the best record in MLB.
An epic battle for the American League East in the works.

Well, I can certainly understand the NY fans feeling regarding Gray's record against Boston. Prices record against NY is abysmal too. But, if you compare the contacts of both, Price's salary is $30M yearly. Gray's is $6.5M. So I contend that Price sucks on a much higher level than Gray.Last edited by KenFougere; 07-02-2018, 05:40 PM.

Red Sox rout Yankees behind Pearce's four HRs
Yanks get spanked third straight game. Sox go for the sweep on Sunday.

What was supposed to be an extended series between two of the sport's best teams has instead been a one-sided affair. The Red Sox have won all three games by at least three runs. Should the Red Sox win again Sunday, it'll be about time to put the Yankees' divisional hopes to bed.
At that point, the Yankees would trail the Red Sox by 9 ½ games in the American League East. With 52 games remaining after Sunday, the Yankees would have to go on an unlikely tear, as well as have the Red Sox plummet. To illustrate that point, consider that the Yankees can go 36-16 -- that is, play like a 112-win team -- the rest of the way. But, if the Yankees lose Sunday, they'd need the Red Sox to go 24-25 in order to win the division outright. Considering Boston entered Sunday with 34 losses, that outcome is ... well, improbable.

Red Sox rally in 9th, win in 10th
The Red Sox rallied for 3 runs in the 9th and won on Andrew Benintendi's walk-off single in the 10th.

Why would you, of all people, ever pick MLB's best team to beat your, very distant second place team?
Anyway, I believe in all playoff series, game #3 is pivotal. Whoever gets a 3 run lead first, should win the game...
